The Foundation Center recently posted a robust data mapping tool that provides information on grantmakers and the reach each grant has. This tool, called Philanthropy In/Sight, allows for users to select search criteria based on grant categories, funding source and area demographics and shows geographical funding data within a matter of several clicks. With state budgets in question and non-profit funding decreasing, this tool can prove to be a great potential resource for combing foundations for grant opportunities. As outlined by the Center:
Philanthropy In/Sight is an essential tool you can use to foster strategic, high-impact philanthropy. Map out your strategies for success using two unique mapping tools, each updated weekly, with timely, trusted information.
To see this tool in action, The Foundation Center has posted a demo video showing how easy the tool is to navigate. The demo adequately shows how powerful and robust the tool can be. However, don’t watch the video unless you are able to pony up the minimum $1,495 yearly subscription fee.
